My world Tuesday

Since my camera doesn't work properly I had a look at the old pictures and slides my husband has digitised recently. It really was a walk down memory lane. Wonderful. I came across these photos of Freudenberg in Germany where we spent our holidays in 1974 when we were on leave from Australia. This is a beautiful little town with characteristic houses built of wood and clay.
I wonder if anyone knows if it is possible and how to improve these old pictures? They all look a bit hazy.

Dat doet me echt aan Duitsland denken! Wij hebben in zo een omgeving gewoond, in Kronberg. Voor mij dus ook 'memories'!

Al zijn ze oud, het zijn toch mooie foto's. Leuk die Duitse dorpjes.
Fijne jaarwisseling

1974? Wow. But pretty.

I use Gimp 2, which is free software, to adjust contrast, hue and color balance - it often improves photos.

Some people recommend Paint, also free, which I've not used yet.

Impressive photos! I like them the way they are.

I use Picasa3 (free) and the 'I'm feeling lucky' button does marvelous things. Photoscape.org is good, too. Try any of the free software-I'm sure you'll find one you like.

These are beautiful photos and I love the homes. Short of paying a lot of money to someone else you really can't do much with scanned/digitalized photos except chalk it up to technologie....remember when we had black and white photos!?
Smiles and happy New Year.

De kwaliteit valt best mee vind ik. In 1974 zat ik mijn voorlaatste jaar op de schoolbanken. Prettige feestdagen!
